  • NATHALIE BONIN Listen to Album COMPOSITION - PRODUCTION - VIOLIN Born in San Francisco, now splitting her time between Los Angeles, New York and Montreal, Nathalie has always loved to spark an emotion through music and art.
    As graduate from McGill University in violin performance, she has completed her Master Certificate in Orchestration for Film and Television with the Berklee College of Music. Nathalie has already cumulated numerous prizes, scholarships and awards for her compositions: LA Film Conducting Intensive Fellowship, ASCAP Hollywood Filmscoring Workshop, BMI Rick Baitz Mentorship, BMI/NYU Television and Adds Worshops, SCL NY Composers Mentorship Program, Finalist in the Oticons International Film Music Competition, Best Sound Design and Audience Award from the 24 Hour Film Race 2014, Berklee Celebrity Scholarship and numerous Grants from the Quebec Arts Council, the Canada Arts Council and SOCAN Foundation. She has been guest soloist with Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra celebrating the release of the album “Portrait in Seven Shades” composed by Grammy Award Winner Ted Nash at the prestigious Rose Theater of the JALC in New York City and has been a member of the New York based jazz quintet Ted Nash and ODEON since 2005. Nathalie was guest soloist of the Société de Musique Contemporaine du Québec (SMCQ) directed by Walter Boudreau, concertmaster for the Ensemble Contemporain de Montréal for their Western Canada Tour in 2007, and section musician with the Orchestre Métropolitain and the Opéra de Montréal since 1993. Aside from her numerous contributions as soloists in contemporary classical, jazz, tango and world music ensembles, Nathalie has also performed and recorded with: Stevie Wonder, Luciano Pavarotti, Charles Aznavour, Gino Vannelli, Garou, Salvatore Adamo, Bran Van 3000, Moist, Gage, Nanette Workman, Cirque du Soleil and Cirque Éloize. She has played on more than 60 albums and numerous television and movie soundtracks such as: My First Wedding, Cruel and Unusual, The Watch Tower, Sans Elle, Les Muses Orphelines, Aurore, René and Maurice Richard as well as soundtracks for various musicals. Nathalie has won many prizes and awards: winner of numerous Canada Arts Council and Quebec Arts Council Grants (1998-2008); 1st Prize Darhius Milhaud Competition (McGill University, 1992); 1st Prize Long Island University Summer Festival Concerto Competition (1985), and winner at the Canadian Music Competition in Montreal (1981). Nathalie is a Voting Member of the Grammy San Francisco Chapter and an Associate National Member of the Emmy Television Academy.
