Sheilava

After moving from Boston to Austin, jazz-folk singer and Master flautist Sheila V.A. was ready to start something new. Coincidentally, a talented and witty keyboardist named Jason Garcia was too. Their mutual respect for the Beatles
and Sinatra created something strange and wonderful. Their mutual understanding that the world is both beautiful and evil was somewhat of a fuel. A few months later they brought on the talent of “Austin’s Greenest Drummer” Mike Krieger, who soon introduced them to bass extraordinaire Alex Kane. Mike DeWitt soon jumped on board to provide the brains behind the brass and an additional touch to the tech side. To further contribute to the madness, they brought on multi-instrumentalist Tre Pham on the eve of their 1-year anniversary as a band. With his fusion of Jamerson/Dart funk elements and an occasional treat of live and looped beatboxing, their sound was finally set. Voila— Sheilava.
